Corwin Jones is an all-American boy from South Dakota. He was Ruth's roommate at Starfleet Academy, and was with her during her Hawkeye Run on the Enterprise, along with Alana Phere and the Vulcan, Stell.

He and Ruth were friends and occasional lovers, but drifted apart when she was assigned to the Enterprise and he received a base-side post.
